ADVISOR PICK: WISDOMTREE INTERNATIONAL ENERGY (DKA)

Recommended by: Richard Lehmann, ISA ETF Investor
Fund assets: $41.8 million

"Energy related closed-end funds are now mostly trading at premiums because of the optimism fueled by the recent run up in oil prices and because low interest rates make price speculation less risky. This usually means it's time to look at ETFs instead since they usually trade close to their net asset value. DKA invests in large-cap energy securities of international companies. The foreign focus should help enhance returns in relation to the U.S. dollar. The fund is weighted more towards those firms that pay a higher dividend. A bonus for U.S. investors: most of the income will qualify for the 15% tax treatment."

China as export power is yesterday's story. Invesco's Samantha Ho says that investors should move on.
Chana R. Schoenberger

To Samantha Ho, who runs Invesco's AIM China Fund, all of the country's roads to riches lead to the same place: personal consumption. She takes a broad view of what that means, favoring select banks and insurers, as well as retailers, goods packagers and personal-service providers. So far Ho has proved to have a pretty good eye. The AIM China Fund, which Ho runs from Hong Kong, has returned 74% so far this year, beating the MSCI AC Far East ex Japan Index by 9.5 percentage points.

Daniel Fisher
